I bought a new tractor this fall, a 1953 Farmall Super M. A Super M was the first new tractor my Dad ever bought. In a fit of nostalgia I decided we needed an M sitting around farm again. It’s in decent original condition, but running a bit rough. Once I get it running smoothly I plan to use it run augers and shuffle wagons around.
Here’s me, Dad, and the M.

Everyone is sleeping peaceably at our home tonight

In a fit of unbridled optimism I bought 3 bushels of canning tomatoes at the Clearspring Produce Auction on Tuesday. A day and a half later the tally was:
- 14 pints whole tomatoes
- 38 pints sauce
- 7 quarts juice
- 1 quart paste (frozen in ice cube trays)
I have them all lined up on the counter (except the frozen paste, of course) and am admiring them.

And I’m also deferring all the trips to the basement to put them away.
