Life Sketch
Peter a Pro was the husband of Dorothea Zumbrunnen. He was a member of an Italian family who had lived in the town of Prato in the Livinen valley. When Peter was a small child, his father immigrated to Uri and became a landowner.
Despite the family’s Italian origins, they rose to prominence in Uri. Peter became the Landammann of Uri.
Peter and Dorothea built the Castle A Pro, which still stands. The castle was in the family for nearly 400 years. They have many living descendants today.
