Barbara Aschwanden

Life Sketch
Barbara Aschwanden was the daughter of Andreas Aschwanden and Verena Fridig and the wife of Landammann Mansuetus Zumbrunnen.

She and Mansuetus lived in Altdorf. They had an enormous brood of 11 children, which was large even for the time. She would have likely moved with him to Thurgau, Switzerland, for four years from 1536-1540 when he served as the landvogt of Thurgau (living in the Frauenfeld Castle) and then a monastery guard.

They likely returned to Uri in 1540.
