Margaretha von Fleckenstein

Life Sketch
Margaretha von Fleckenstein was the wife of Josue Zumbrunnen. She was the daughter of Heinrich von Fleckenstein and Anna Reichmuth.

Her mother Anna Reichmuth was of the same family as Anna Maria Reichmuth (the wife of Josue’s brother Walter Zumbrunnen) and Verena Reichmuth (the second wife of Josue’s grandfather Landammann Johann Zumbrunnen II).

She must have lived for some time in Lugano, while Josue was the chief clerk there from 1554 to 1566. They returned to Altdorf in 1566 and built a house, which is still standing, at the estate of Allenwinden in Altdorf.
