Magdalena Reding von Biberegg

Life Sketch
Magdalena Reding von Biberegg was the wife of Landammann Johann Heinrich Zumbrunnen, the most prominent Zumbrunnen man of the first half of the 1600s. She was from a prominent family in her own right. Her father, Rudolf Reding, had been the Landammann of Schwyz, the same office that her husband would later hold in Uri.

She and Johann Heinrich owned land in Altdorf, and at some point moved into the Rudenz Castle, which Johann Heinrich Zumbrunnen had purchased and restored into a residence. They created a family endowment of the Zumbrunnens in 1644.

They are known to have had just one child — Anton Zumbrunnen.
