Life Sketch
Anna Maria Reichmuth was the wife of Walter Zumbrunnen. Walter joined the Swiss guard, and for 22 years, from 1569 to 1591 he was a guard captain for the pope in Bologna. Anna likely lived with him here. Walter eventually married a second time to an (apparently Italian) woman named Fiorbellina Mugina, so it’s possible that Anna had died while in Bologna.
Anna Reichmuth was of the same family as Verena Reichmuth. Verena was the second wife of her husband’s grandfather Johann Zumbrunnen II. She and Walter had no known children in Uri, although it’s possible that he had children who became Italian. I believe that some Zumbrunnen’s moved to Uri and adopted the surname Fontana (which also means fountain).
