Life Sketch
Erasmus Zumbrunnen was born about 1600, the son of Josue Zumbrunnen II and Barbara Hassin. It seems like Josue’s uncle Erasmus Zumbrunnen, was this Erasmus’ name sake.
School records suggest he was born in 1600. In 1612, at the of 12, he enrolled at the Collège Saint-Michel in Fribourg. People who pursued an education often used it to become a military officer, a priest, or serve in Swiss political offices. But so far I know nothing of what Erasmus did, where he lived, whether he married or had children. Though probably born in Altdorf he may have emigrated.
