Dorothea von Beroldingen was the first wife of Landammann Johannes Zumbrunnen II. She was a member of the Beroldingen family who had their ancestral seat at the Beroldingen Mini-Castle which is still standing in Uri.

She grew up around Uri’s magistrate class. Her father Andreas von Beroldingen was the landammann of Uri as was her maternal grandfather Johannes Fries.

If she was married to Johannes Zumbrunnen by 1477 then she would have moved with him to Baden, when he was appointed the bailiff there. They would have lived in the Bailiff’s Castle of Baden. Otherwise they lived in Altdorf.

Dorothea and Johannes had two children: Mansuetus Zumbrunnen and Andreas Zumbrunnen. At some point, Johannes took a second wife, Verena Reichmuth, with whom he had a daughter Anne Zumbrunnen. It’s unknown what happened to Dorothea but she probably died.
